If you wish to have free time at any point on-route, you can opt-out of our daily itinerary to do your own thing.

As your well-being is of the utmost importance, on-route, you will be staying in our own luxury hotels and those of our associates.

Please Note

Himalaya Discovery advises a circular route via Kinnaur first followed by Laul Spiti and then Manali/Kullu because our own private hotels are in these regions enabling us to personally adjust you to high altitude areas.

Kinnaur, Laul Spiti & Manali via Kullu Valley to Shimla

Itinerary for the 11-Day Shimla, Kinnaur, Laul Spiti, Manali/Kullu Valley package:

Day 1
Collection from either Shimla bus station, airport or railway station. Relax in hotel, supper and discussion with the team. 

Day 2
Sight-seeing trip (by car) to Kamna Devi temple, Mini Vashnov Devi temple, lunch, then tour of Mall road, the British made church, Lakkar Bazaar, Kali Bari temple and then back to hotel for a restful night before leaving early for Kinnaur.

Day 3
Shimla to Sangla (10 hour journey) passing through, Kufri, Fagu and stopping for lunch in Narkanda. Then passing through Rampur to reach our own hotel in Rakshham, Sangla Valley around 7pm.
Day 4
Sightseeing to Kamru Fort then back to your hotel for lunch and a rest. Afternoon, a visit to Chitkul (the last village of India) for afternoon tea, followed by a cultural evening at our own hotel with local musicians – plus an opportunity to sample the local wine – at your own risk!

Day 5
Journey from Sangla to Kalpa via Recong Peo (5 hours) and then on to our private hotel in Kalpa. Relaxing evening along with a chance to explore the village and adjacent Hindu and Buddhist temples.

Day 6
Sightseeing the stunning Kinnaur Kailash mountain range; plus one of the most scenic/expansive walks in Himachal (2km) on the flat. Ideal photo-shoots with cars provided for those who prefer transport. Explore the tribal village of Roghi. Picnic lunch prepared by us. Free time to explore, followed by supper in our garden around a fire with local musicians.

Day 7
Kalpa to the monastic village of Tabo in Laul Spiti, passing through vast open glacier landscapes and stopping for lunch in the small village of Nako. The back-drop of mountains is actually in Tibet which is why its knick-name is ‘Little Tibet.’

Day 8
Explore the 1.300-year-old monastery dear to the Dali Lama’s heart, and where you can participate in the early morning Puja with the monks, lamas and Rinpoche. Then onto the highly usual monastic village of Dhankar which was once the capital of Laul Spiti.
Day 9
Leave early for one of the most extraordinary journey’s on Earth; through endless glaciers separated by a river and then stopping for lunch in a Tibetan tent. Time  for photo shoots at a famous isolated Buddhist temple before journeying through the Rohtang pass and onto our hotel. Relax evening and supper.

Day 10
Manali local sightseeing with a choice of shopping in town, visiting the Devi   Temple, The Club House, a Tibetan monastery, Van Vihar etc. 

Day 11
Manali – Shimla via Kullu Valley. Lunch at a well-known river restaurant to enjoy the views. Supper and preparation to leave for your journey home the following morning.
